CAMERON HIGHLANDS

Located 20 kilometers from Ipoh and around 150 kilometers from the capital Kuala Lumpur, Cameron Highlands is elevated 5000 feet above sea level and experiences cool and breezy climate, one of the few in Peninsular Malaysia. It is accessible by road through the North South Expressway. Named after a British colonial government surveyor William Cameron who found the plateau during a mapping expedition, it is hugely popular for its tea plantations and is home to most of the tea produce in the country.
Various attractions await the visitor including Butterfly Farms, Strawberry plantation and farms, some Cactus points, rose and flower gardens, a common export from the highlands. Major accommodation here include hotels and homestay facilities.
